When it comes to processors, AMD is having a good year managing itself to directly compete with the long lasting kingdom where Intel gets the iron throne (or silicon, in this case). On our forums, we’ve recently posted about yet another security issue found on Intel processors. I for one assembled my new rig in May. Two weeks later, Zombieload was discovered. You can tell I was not a happy camper.
On the other hand, we are yet to see a major improvement from the Red Team when it comes to graphics cards. Sure, they don’t lag behind NVIDIA that much but when it comes to raw power, it’s the green you need. Which means some cards aren’t sold as good and the RX 580 is one of them.
Apparently, AMD and their partners still have many of those in storage. More to that, MSI is preparing another iteration of ARMOR series for this GPU.
Although price and specs aren’t out yet, with Black Friday deals emerging, I’d keep an eye on this chipset in particular. Especially if your budget is somewhat constrained but you’d still like to play in Full HD quality.
If you’re still undecided and would like to see benchmarks before committing, you can check this Hierarchy from Tom’s Hardware.
