Hell-O-Ween for ISIL: Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is no more
« on: October 28, 2019, 10:59:13 PM »
The leader of the terrorist organization DAESH (so defined per the UN and various other government bodies and institutions) was confirmed to have been killed 26 October 2019, Saturday.

Operation Kayla Mueller
That day, US Delta Forces made an attack in a compound in Idlib, after intelligence gathering taking place through the SDF. An ISIL informant and captured leaders disclosed the locations of the wanted terrorist.

When finding himself unable to escape, he committed suicide by detonating an explosive vest, at the cost taking 3 more lives of the children standing with him and wounding a military dog. No further casualties were reported; the operation was successful.

It is also worth noting that during Obama Administration, Osama bin Laden, a terrorist who founded al-Qaeda which is responsible for the September 11 attacks, was likewise killed. Both had their remains disposed off at sea.

Nevertheless, this time, the effort envolved other actors who played a vital part in the takedown of the current threat: Russia, Turkey, Iraq and the SDF, which President Trump thanked for their support.

And although a major blow to the the terrorist organization, it is far from defeated. Also, another leader has already been appointed, Abdullah Qardash, which supposedly was defined as al-Baghdadi's replacement long ago.

Update 04/11/2019
Several sources say Abu Ibrahim al-Quraishi is now the current leader of the terrorist group. Apparently al-Baghdadi's spokesperson, along with Abdullah Qardash have already been taken out as well by US forces.
